How To Make Valentine's Day Bone Broth Heart Gummies for Dogs

One of my favorite treats for Valentine's Day is those Sweetheart Conversation Heart candies! They're so cute and they're such a classic so I figured, why not make a dog-friendly version?

Benefits of Bone Broth for Dogs:

  • Improved joint health
  • Better digestive health
  • Immune support
  • Liver detoxification
  • Improved skin and coat health
  • Better bone health
  • Hydrating for dog
  • Provides essential minerals like magnesium, potassium, and sodium
  • Contains antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation
  • Can be a tasty and nutritious supplement to a dog's diet

It's important to ensure that bone broth is made properly using safe ingredients. Avoid adding onions, garlic, or other toxic substances to bone broth for dogs.

The bone broth I used from this recipe is our current favorite from Open Farm. It's specifically made for dogs and contains nutritious ingredients like humanely raised turkey, chicken or grass-fed beef bones that are slow-cooked with functional ingredients like non-GMO pumpkin, carrot, and turmeric.

You can also serve this bone broth as a kibble topper or to rehydrate freeze-dried dog food. If your dog is a picky eater I highly recommend adding this broth to their kibble our picky dog loves it and will lick his bowls clean now.

Products Needed:

 Directions:

  • Add 5 cups of hot boiling water to a bowl and mix in your food coloring (if you want to have multiple colors you will want to divide 5 cups by how many colors you want to use example: if you use 5 different colors each color will need 1 cup of hot boiling water)
  • Mix together 5 packets of unflavored gelatin with your water thoroughly
  • Mix together 1 cup of dog-friendly bone broth
  • Use your turkey baster to fill up your molds (a tip for this is to place your molds onto a tray or plate before filling up your molds to make transferring them to the fridge easier)
  • Place on molds in the fridge for at least 4-5 hours

Please keep in mind that I'm not a veterinarian or an animal nutritionist, so it's best to consult with an expert before introducing new foods to your dog's diet. Ensure home-cooked meals are balanced and include all necessary nutrients for their health. If you're unsure about feeding something to your dog or if your dog has an underlying health condition check in with your vet.
